It doesn't matter what race you are, at least once in your life you have accumulated a good number of subtle racial comments or opinions about you and it ticked you off. Everyone experiences this, but right now, we are focusing on the racial micro-aggressions that Filipinos face here in America today. Whether it be a gentle joke or a condescending suggestion, some people don't know that some things they tell Filipino men and women can sometimes be hurtful. Rod explained to us the concept and summary of Filipino micro-aggressions. He gave us quotes and examples from books, personal experiences, and videos. Nearly everyone in the class can relate, and can also admit that they too do contribute to these micro-aggressions. This class from Tuesday was a very great one, mainly because he taught us an important lesson that we all face but never really acknowledged and analyzed it. Thursday was an excellent learning day for us, as we took an opportunity to be educated outside the classroom we're normally adjusted to. The class went downstairs of Building 1 to the art gallery. We were told there were free food and to spend as much time as we want to be down there. I myself have never been in the art gallery room, let alone knew this campus even had one, so I was thrilled. First stepping foot in the room, you can see it was a well lit place and the continuous line for the food. The food was free so of course I had step in line, where I eventually got a plate of lumpias and bread, with the generously provided can of Cherry Pepsi. It seemed other people/classes got word of this gallery because there was a good amount of people also visiting the art gallery. There was no particular route for viewing like IKEA, so you can wander about how you wish. Of course I cant talk about every picture I saw, so I'll just put it briefly. The pictures displayed were focused on how life was for Filipinos throughout the decades of the 1900s. Every picture was presented with a caption or explanation, furthering the information you were interpreting while viewing the picture. It was a great learning experience, getting to see the different people doing various activities and viewing their way of living.

F.Y.B ask the whole classmate What is Brain Drain to you, What can we do to change the education system and How much we know about our Identity? Brain Drain- Departing from very high skill people like sports, computer and so on but they want to move to a for their own talent from countries that have a better opportunities that pays well. For example most people develop countries suffer a brain drain where people have talented and move to place around the continents. We can use our knowledge from our education to move different countries to have find opportunities share the talent and get a good pay job but at the same their no turning back its one way trip to stay. We all have different opinions but it could go either way depending on situation. Most people would like better access for free education for example we don't want any child or adult college student to get left behind. There is no right or wrong answer just live normal life and experience adulthood. Everything should be fair or cut the price, make a better place for entertainment so everyone can enjoy and ask student want they want for their campus and etc. Depending on the people knowledge or what they know from past they learn like from classes, family, peer, and friends. Trying to reconnect our Identity to understand the meaning and what can you do to express yourself and express how you feel. Learning your Identity from race or who you really are is open up to take one step at a time. Just focus on what you do best around people. October 15th was a very special Thursday because Skyline College hosted the Legions of Boom event downstairs in building 4 at 6 pm. The event showcased numerous local DJ's here in the Bay Area, where they shared knowledge and stories about their disc jockey backgrounds. What I personally learned was that they spread their word of making your art into a positive and joyful experience in doing what you love, and in their hands, disc jockeying was what they adorned for. The atmosphere was very exhilarating from the packed room, the continuous playing slideshow of interesting pictures, and decades of history being portrayed by the panel of the DJ's sitting in the front of the classroom. The panelists interviewed each other and answered questions directly from the audience, which was a crowd interacting experience, and those are very intuitive. Halfway through, the event was interrupted by the earthquake drill, but resumed shortly after, where the panelists displayed their skills and members of the crowd also were able to show off their talents on the turntables as well.
