Filipino Identity "Come Away From The Window You Don't Want To Be A Child Left Behind Do You?" "Sounds Good To Me!" "Kill the Indian in him, and save the man." Legions of Boom
October 15th was a very special Thursday because Skyline College hosted the Legions of Boom event downstairs in building 4 at 6 pm. The event showcased numerous local DJ's here in the Bay Area, where they shared knowledge and stories about their disc jockey backgrounds. What I personally learned was that they spread their word of making your art into a positive and joyful experience in doing what you love, and in their hands, disc jockeying was what they adorned for. The atmosphere was very exhilarating from the packed room, the continuous playing slideshow of interesting pictures, and decades of history being portrayed by the panel of the DJ's sitting in the front of the classroom. The panelists interviewed each other and answered questions directly from the audience, which was a crowd interacting experience, and those are very intuitive. Halfway through, the event was interrupted by the earthquake drill, but resumed shortly after, where the panelists displayed their skills and members of the crowd also were able to show off their talents on the turntables as well.
