Barangay Group: Tubig Motto: "Go with the flow..." Mascot: Tilapia Hi, I'm kinakabahan bulaklak and I'm 17 years old. And I'm enrolled as a senior at South San Francisco High School, and am a part of Middle College at Skyline College (kinda why I'm here haha). I am just a teenager getting used to the the average college student's lifestyle while trying to get ahead in my education. Pretty much a huge dork, I really love video games and anime. My other hobbies include singing, playing ukulele/piano, swimming, makeup, DIYs, and eating because I love to explore and look for more unique food experiences to have with friends and family. Before I wasn't close with my family, but now they part of the most precious people I cherish in my life, I'm an only child, yet I have a couple of brothers and sisters not by blood. I am a first generation Filipino American and I am proud to be so.
Generational trauma , from my perspective, is the idea that traumatic events that happen over the course of an individual's lifetime, if unresolved, will inflict and pass down that traumatic towards upcoming generations. I think it is very significant because of how that it is an explanation as to why there are a lot of mental health issues in not only my own bloodline, but in the Filipino community in generation because of things such as decolonization and assimilation into different parts of society. If people don't know about why they are hurting emotionally or physically, they would think they are insane instead of doing their best to try to find resources that can benefit and help them. Therefore, it is important for people to know about generational trauma for it affects everyone in some shape and form.
