Thats my brief Bio and if there is one quote that works for me it's "The bigger you are the harder you'll fall" -Goku
This week of 9/22-9/25 we learned of even more oppressors of the Philippines, this time in WW2. Japan not only attacked the U.S but the Philippines too, instead of helping the Philippines Americans backed out and promised to comeback. With General Macarthur, leading the U.S troops back to fight the war at home he never made good on his promise. Instead the U.S came in time to oppress Filipinos and exploit them for cheap labor along with the countries natural resources. With this change came poverty for the country its oppressor did not only cause the problem but gave them a solution like that benefits Americans as always. Americans established the same learning systems and used them in the Philippines creating nurses to for their own use. These Filipino nurses were then brought to America and exploited for their cheap labor so they could have a better life and send money back home. This oppression and exploitation is still very alive.

Tuesday 9/22/15 Class on Tuesday September 22,2015, we were taught the section called Philippine American War. In class we were assigned a picture and from the picture we were assigned to discuss what our picture means or shows. For our picture, we can see that there is a American shown punishing a Filipino. The concept of that picture shows that the U.S wants the Filipino to let go of their culture and adapt to the U.S culture. In class we also discussed the three type of genocide, which is Physical, Biological, and Cultural.(mike) (cont. from Tuesday 9/22/15) |
